In 2025 former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and his wife Wendy bought the Manor, the Holmby Hills mansion built by TV producer Aaron Spelling, for $110 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. At about 56,000 square feet it is one of the largest houses in Los Angeles.
It was first listed at $165 million. Robb Report puts the Schmidts' property portfolio at more than $600 million.
$110 million could pay a full year of rent for 6,165 homeless veterans. Against a fortune Forbes put at $35.5 billion, it cost Schmidt what about $598 costs a typical American family.
